Need to download Brain Software Package HK1101 - Hokkien for dummies.

Seriously, in the last 2 weeks I think I've listened to more Hokkien than I had in the past 20 years. HAHA.

Phone scam

My parents almost got scammed today!

In the morning my mom picked up a call and before she could say hello, the person at the other end (who sounded very much like my brother) was crying and asking my mom to tell the people not to beat him.

My mom panicked and asked to speak to the big boss. Because she was rather frightened, my mom didn't think of asking to verify her son or whatsoever. The big boss explained that her son was a guarantor for his friend and because he couldn't pay up, he was held by their "company". They asked for $10,000.

My mom was taken aback by the huge sum and passed the phone to my dad (luckily he was there to help). Fortunately he was witty enough to ask the "crying son" for his IC number. When the "son" couldn't give an answer despite being asked a few times, from behind the background my dad overheard Hokkien discussions. Suddenly, they hung up.

Scam busted.

Fortunately my parents didn't fall victim to this hideous act of cheat. They reported this incident to the police. I am sure we are not the only ones who are/have been a receiver of phone scams. Please inform your family and relatives and help make sure we stay vigilant!

Watched Shutter Island!

I salute Leonardo Dicaprio for his natural acting ability. He was really deeply moulded into playing out his character in Shutter Island.

Anyway, the show was truly captivating and intriguing. The story kept the audience wanting to catch the development of the plot and the ending. I personally thought there were some nice camera angles and apt use of silence and heart pounding background music.

4/5 stars!!!

Every morning I need to wake up at 7.02am. This is the time I set my alarm at.

But every morning without fail, my eyes automatically open at about 6.30am. IT IS VERY FRUSTRATING BECAUSE I CANNOT FULLY ENJOY MY SLEEP!!!!

Random stuff

Last Saturday I had lunch with my parents. We drove to Bedok market to makan. We haven't eaten here for quite some time already; and it was good because the food was always relishing. It also reminded me of those uni days when I didn't have lessons on weekdays, we would drive to different areas for lunch.

After the full lunch we went grocery shopping at Sheng Siong. Despite the clean and friendly ntuc fairprice located a stone's throw away, Sheng Siong was bustling with life! Housewives and aunties were juggling both their baskets and choosing the freshest food, staff were busy restocking and making sure everything was in place, neat and clean. We initially only wanted to get some ingredients for dinner but turned up more than one basket-full at the counter.

My mom and I waited outside while my dad went back in to buy a watermelon. When he was finally done, he walked towards us carrying a grin, obviously happy with his purchase. Suddenly he stopped in front of us, and asked:

"你要 - 晟,菘,超,市?"

-_-

He is getting real lame and crappy. Signs of dementia.

If you happened to browse through The Straits Times today, you would have seen this emotional photograph on the front page:-

(taken off the straits times website)

"SINGAPOREAN Michael Chia, 47, was greeted with a big hug from his wife Rosa Hein, 44, when he touched down at Changi Airport Terminal 2 yesterday.

He had been stranded in Frankfurt, Germany, since his flight on Friday was cancelled, after concerns over an Icelandic volcanic ash cloud grounded flights in northern Europe from Thursday."

I could imagine the man's happiness and the wife's relief. Awww.

In addition, in the picture I had noticed 3 things:
1) Male Rolex x1
2) Female Rolex x1
3) LV bag x1

They are too striking and attention seeking.

I joked to my dad that just beside this couple stood another couple who hugged tighter and displayed more heartfelt emotions - but one of them was carrying a NTUC bag. Not so appropriate for a front page photo, is it?

I happened to chance upon this interesting fact of the US $1 bill:-

On the $1 bill, you can see an owl in the upper left-hand corner of the "1" encased in the "shield," while a spider is hidden in the front upper right-hand corner.

I CANNOT FIND THEM!!!!

Please help me!

I have appended a pic to assist you!

Alighted at Tampines MRT station. Took the escalator down.

This lady was walking towards the fare gates, holding up her white bag at waist level. I guessed her Ez-Link was inside her bag and she would tap her card by placing her bag on the scanner.

Yes, I was right.

And yes, I was right again, when I guessed that her card will fail to be detected. I used the fare gates next to hers, passed through and looked back at her, who was drowning helplessly in the crowd passing by her.

Don't understand why they cannot choose the easier and more dependable way out.

Is April like the popular month to give birth?

Hmm... counting back 9 months... August leh. =\ August a popular month to make babies? Haha. OHHHHHHHH, couples doing their fair bit for their country after watching National Day Celebrations on tv??? Lol.

Anyway, why I said that is because:

14 Aprilians in a week alone!!!

On the 6th there are 3 friends sharing the same birthday...

On the 8th there are 7!!!

Haha. Just find it very interesting. Leading an uneventful life. =\

Moonwalker

Don't know if you remember the times when if your friend has a SEGA 32bit at home, you'll go WOAH!!!!!!!!! We enjoyed silly fun games like Tiny Toon, Street of Rage, Batman, Flintstones, Aladdin etc???

One of my favourites is Moonwalker!!! Featuring none other than MJ!

I downloaded the emulator and have been playing the game for many months now... I play it when I'm ultra bored, haha.

I find it a very entertaining game, because you play MJ himself and your mission is to free all the captured girls (hmm, not boys?), defeating the boss' henchmen along the way. MJ 'kills' the enemies by executing all his famous dance moves (e.g. kicking, moonwalker, spinning ard, tossing of his hat), the game play is accompanied by background music of his famous songs such as Billie Jeans, Thriller, Bad etc.

I just completed the game, HOORAY!!!!!

It's a Good Friday afterall! =P hahahahaha.

Couldn't have done it without F5 and F8... =P

I'm scared to turn old.
