When I leave my workplace it is dark and serene.
When I reach home the rice is cold. And the newspapers look foreign. I finish the leftovers.

Mom's Dumplings
Mom decided to make her glutinous rice dumplings that we have been craving for for 3 years! This is rarer than once in a blue moon.

Bugis shopping
Bugis is such a treasure!
I know we all frequented Bugis when we were in our younger, uniform tucked out days - catching a movie, window shopping at bugis street, watching young children being amused by the iconic fountain... back then, there weren't so many places we could hang out. A decade older, we celebrate our maturity by hanging out at more atas places like Dempsey's, quaint cafes located off the tracks, Ion Orchard, Marina Bay... we seemed to have deserted the beauty of Bugis together with our once-innocence and naivety.
Yesterday was the first time I walked most elaborately at dear ol' Bugis. Oh my, I was awed by the size of Bugis Street! I mean, I have always used Bugis Street to cut across from Bugis Junction to Albert Complex/Sim Lim/Burlington Square, but little did I know that Bugis Street is so much an under-rated shopping haven! There were plenty of corners to turn and every corner brought rows of shops into your sight; there's a level 2 and level 3 to boot as well, and I didn't even have the energy to head up! The narrow walkways lined with shops bursting with mannequins and racks of clothes of the latest fashion were reminscent of Chatuchak - but better, cos some portions were air conditioned ha! The prices are comparable too! And when your feet are getting tired, head back to the centre to grab a refreshing lime juice or some taiwanese snacks to munch on. Guys, fret not, there are plenty of stuff for you too - phone accessories, gadgets, tees decorated with abstract logos, checkered long sleeved shirts etc.
Oh, realised that Iluma is now renamed Bugis +, and there are major renovations work ongoing. Gone are the restaurants (New York New York, Asian Cafe etc) and the movie theatre. Very soon there will be a seamless bridge at level 2 linking Bugis Junction to Bugis +, replacing the previous brainless design of having to exit one mall, taking the escalator and walking a bit to reach the other mall. There's now a McDonald's, and Koi has found itself a larger shopfront with a more spacious area for people to wait for their thirst quenchers. There's also a new shop Celio that sports trendy guys' apparel, and oh yes, Uniqlo's opening on 8 June!
