Subtitles

In the car. Ye saw me fiddling with the controls of the DVD player and asked what I was doing. I explained I was turning on the subtitles.

Later that day, we were in the car again and I was doing the same thing. Ye asked, 

"Papa, 你在开sub-turtles 啊？"

姐姐在哪里?!

Wye is so attached to and so used to having her sister around, when we are out with just her (cos yx was having enrichment class in school), Ye would suddenly exclaim from out of the blue, "Eh，姐姐在哪里？！”

I wish for these two sisters to be close forever. ❤️

My girls made me a flower pot

31.1.23 - I came home from work and the girls giggled, asked me to close my eyes and pulled me to a corner. "You can open your eyes now!" They chirped and handed me this - a plastic tub wrapped in pink paper decorated with their drawings and scribbles. Accompanied by a hand-written card. 

They explained that my many plants were in need of a flower pot, and so they made me one. Apparently they made this all by themselves including painstakingly wrapping and gluing the pink paper around the tub.

This flower pot most probably won't find itself sitting on my garden rack, but it most definitely found its way to my heart 💓

Paper snakes

Girls cut out paper snakes without help! Pleasantly surprised Ye is adept at using the scissors at her age. She did the longer snake from 1 piece of paper btw!

3, 2, 1, blast off!

In the car that day, I spotted the National Stadium in front and directed the kids' attention towards it, "Look, a spaceship!"

Wye announced, "3, 2, 1, bus stop!"

Muffling my laughter, I explained to her it's pronounced, "blast off".

Cheeky Ye attempted to repeat what she heard:

"3, 2, 1, buttocks!”

We LOL-ed in the car! My kids are so funny 🤣

跌倒进toilet bowl

2nd week of school and Ye related the most hilarious incident that happened to her in school:

She said she went to the toilet to shh shh. I promptly praised her for it. She continued, "But 我跌倒进 toilet bowl。” （ fell into the toilet bowl） 🚽

Thinking it's highly impossible that could happen (cos I know for a fact the toilet bowls are kiddy-sized), I questioned, “真的meh？”

She replied, yes.

"Then what happened?"

"My teacher said, 'I will fish you out'." 

🤣🤣🤣

流鼻涕

今天从学校接了女儿，冲完凉过后我对她说： “不要坐在风扇底下，会着凉。”

 

Ye ：“ 什么是着凉？”

“意思就是感冒，流鼻涕”

“我要流鼻涕。“

“Huh？！ 为什么？”

“因为我喜欢吃。”

拍拍我

That night, Ye uncharacteristically asked me to accompany her to sleep. And I did. After rocking her to a sleepy state, I placed her in her cot. Ye grabbed her bolster and whispered to me, "爸爸, 拍拍我。”

Precious piece of memory from my baby... Am sure this phase will be over in a flash which I will look back in fondness.

YE is not a lazy pig

Brought Ye to the playground yesterday, Yx didn't want to come along. Ye was fine playing by herself but still she yelled upstairs Jie jie, jiejie to no avail.

I sighed and said, "Aiya jiejie won't come down la, she is lazy pig."

Immediately Ye commented, "我是do-it pig" (which means she everything also will do). Haha she is so cuteeee la 😝

Over dinner today, Ye popped a question from out-of-the-blue :  

”Papa, 花生是不是从花来的？”

Sunday night reflection - Baking with Nainai

Wifey needed to rest her hands so I brought the girls out for lunch at White Sands. Ye did a Slidey Dumptey at Saizeriya (she slid down the cushioned seat and sat on the floor underneath the table lol it was super hilarious cos she was halfway in her sentence "姐，你记得。。。 *plonk!*“ ） lol, then we spent about 40mins at the library followed by 20mins at Pets Corner where the girls just erm, watched the animals 😂

Both girls were v cooperative throughout and I enjoyed their company. They've recently grown closer together and are each other's closest chit chat and singing buddies. I need to commend Yx the most as she is the most thoughtful and helpful sis: offering to take ye's mask; lending a hand when I commented I had too many bags to take by myself; holding ye's hand while guiding her through the carpark. Love them both so much!

Mom was available that afternoon and so we headed over for baking session! Magicmom bathed and changed them, involved the girls in the baking (whilst dad took pics and a vid), prepared tea break for them, and also cooked dinner for all of us. 

Amazing energy mom still possesses. We're all so blessed with her showering love and may my parents be blessed with good health for many, many more decades. ❤️

Kok 到头

Suffered a minor superficial cut above my nose during soccer. 

Ying En saw it and asked, "你撞到头啊？"

I replied, no.

She followed up, "你 kok 到头啊 ?"
