18th July!!! 2nd ORD!!!

This is the day... final day of work on my contract! Have I been looking forward so much to this day since weeks ago!

My friends and I went to Washington DC on Monday. The place is so beautiful! The museums are artistically designed, the buildings are awesome and the memorials and monuments so grand. Seriously, it would take days to look at the whole area. We followed the bus organised by our employer and decided to spend a night there so we could continue exploring the next day. We only had time to see abit of the Natural History Musuem, White House, Holocaust Museum because most of them close at around 5.30pm! The White House was just as what you'd see in movies, but the fence surrounding it prevented nicer photos.

We took a cab to our hotel that night after a sumptous dinner at a Chinese restaurant at Chinatown. I had beef tendon noodles!!

Anyway we woke up very early on Tuesday because in order to go up the Washington Monument, one has to queue to take tickets as early as 7am!!! There were some delays and we could only reach there at 9.30am, but luckily we got tickets to go up the monument at 1.30pm. We then walked to Lincoln Memorial, Jefferson Memorial and took plenty of photos!! (I'll show u guys some pics when I can, okay? I'm so sorry for the last few boring picture-less entries!) The Washington Monument was simply awesome. It's the world's tallest free standing structure, which means it has nothing holding it to the ground! From up there we relished at the aerial views of the entire place and wowed at the city plan. We also saw the Pentagon in the distance!

After that we explored the Capitol area, library and back to the Natural History Museum because all of us thought it was the most interesting. However time was still a limiting factor and we had to take the bus back already...

It has been a pretty awesome experience working here. Not only have I learnt to adapt to the new environment, I also realised how hard money comes by! Seriously! I think like at least thrice for every dollar spent. Last by not least, the many wonderful friendships I have found here leave so much memories behind.

Air tickets - $1600
Security deposit - $100
Uniform - $25
Memories in Usa - Priceless.

Tonight's gonna be a busy night! Gotta wash clothes, stuff everything into my luggages and bags, take photos with my many new friends here, etc etc. Though I know it'd be tiring, I know it's all gonna be worth it because it's cool to have friends in your life. =)

Unleashed!!

Today is my off day!!! WOOOT!

My group of friends and I signed up for the bus trip to Potomac Mills Mall, which is one and a half hour drive from our hostel. Potomac Mills has over 220 shops, including factory outlets like Nike, Guess, Fossil, American Eagle, Abercrombie & Fitch, Urban Behaviour etc etc!! The place is sooooo huge you need a map to locate where the shops are. EXCITING SHOPPING SPREEE!!!

Reached there at around 10.30am. The scene was so funny! On the bus everyone was like dead and lifeless, sleeping, snoring... As soon as the bus door opened, all of us rushed down towards the mall like mad dogs UNLEASHED!!! HAHA! 2 of my frens He Fang and Kai Wei were even more exaggerating. Before I could tell them what time we needa meet back at where, they were already 10metres ahead. -_-"

Anyway we decided to split into groups because definitely we want to not waste time and look at our own stuffs! The mall is unbelievable huge. Lots of shoes, bags, polo shirts, dresses etc etc. Every shop boosts huge variety of goods and designs at cheap prices. I wanted to get a digicam, but decided otherwise cos I didn't have a camera pro with me to give advice. After walking around Neighbourhood 2 (the whole freaking mall is divided into 5 big neighbourhoods lol!), it was time for lunch! There was A&W! I was drawn to it initially but later decided to walk around the food court... Saw something funny. At one of the stalls, their fried rice is actually 30cents cheaper than white rice. WTH?? Anyway, I walked around and went for what we know it as Mixed rice vege! It's so home! I asked for rice, grilled chicken pieces and long beans fried with onion, along with iced lemon tea. It's so home!! And the lady who served me was from SINGAPORE!!! Upper bukit timah!! IT'S SO HOME!!! LOL!! ^______^

After lunch, it was time for me to get unleashed. WAKAKA!! The girls went their way and the guys our way. The shoes were nice and cheap... but after converting the prices to SD, we thought we could get them at Queensway so we didn't buy them except for Busy Roy (he is not busy anymore fyi, he's a HOLIDAY Roy!) who settled for a pair of silver and white Nike shoes for US$35. We then headed for GAP, where I got 2 pairs of very kawaii boxers for US$5 each!! They're really cute and special, don't think you can find them anywhere else.. I'll post pictures of them when I have the chance!! (of cos not with me WEARING them hahhaa!)

Then I bought a nice shirt for $4.98 at ecko, a cool adidas sport watch for $29.99 and a pair of Levi's jeans for $29.99 only!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's the average price of the jeans at Levi's. Levi's T-shirts are only $10. Where to find?!??!?!?! ^_______^ HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!

Too bad had to leave at 6, didn't have time to look at other shops... boohoohoo. Wanted to shop for nice shirts and shoes one... BUT IT'S OKAY!!! Tomorrow going to ShortPump, another shopping place!! GAGAGA!!!!

That's all for today! Happy day! =) Btw to update you guys, only 7 more days till work ends! Then it's travelling for 3 weeks!!!!!! YAYAYAYYYYY!!!
