When I watched this video, I looped it over and over again, soaking in the rapturous applause as the Legend placed his studs back onto the greens of his favourite field.
In the 78th minute, the Legend received the ball with an immaculate first touch, took a quick glance up and squared his body. As he raised back his right foot preparing to shoot, the seconds seemed to stop... the stadium suddenly seemed serene and saturated with anticipation. The clock rewound. As his insole caressed the ball, it seemed destined for the inevitable. It took all but a second but it was a movement of sheer class, of uncanny familiarity. When the ball rustled into the far corner, the 60,000 fans roared in ecstasy as the Legend wheeled away, a face of thrill, hysteric, shock and disbelief.
Major regret I didn't do such a thing during my time! Even Asia like Hong Kong, Korea would be exhilarating! Now that makes it two regrets for my tertiary studies :(
But anyway, wishing him all the best for the 5 months he'll be there. He plans to go England to watch a football match, catch Wimbledon games and also up north to take a chance on the Northern Lights. Come back with no regrets, but stay safe, healthy and watchful! He's the youngest child and arguably the most spoilt/pampered la, so I believe this period of independency will help him gain some maturity and soft skills.
Lacking Tartar Tata and Tyrannasaurus Titus, the coolest ME clique met up with Yucky Yixin on New Year's Day. Working in Northampton, England, she is back for a couple of weeks to attend a cousin's wedding. It was great to see her again - same cheerful smile, small slit eyes and ang moh pai pattern. Over dinner and desserts, the few of us were the same silly clique, teasing one another and making lame jokes and comments. Haha. It was kinda reminiscent of the times we spent together at NUS. :)
