I recall... in our primary school days, we always had oral exam. And after the read-aloud passage, there's always the dreaded picture! Gah.
Here's an example:
Describe the following picture in as many details as possible.
Well...
> Litter Free = It means it does not cost anything to litter. That's what it means, no?
> Many people are Macdonalds consumers
> Many of them drink Coke and eat McFlurry
> Many Macdonald consumers like to litter
> Those who litter are most probably males, because, "For crying out loud, they cannot aim!"
Okay, seriously.
> Town council, try to place another rubbish bin there! The mess is very ghastly and dirty and polluting and very difficult for the aged rubbish collector you know.
> See how much plastic is disposed of? That's how much plastic we can recycle. I think Singaporeans NEED to be more environmental friendly. We do not take action because we have been enjoying easily accessible, good comfort. We need to be educated on what plastic is made of, how it is disposed, and that most is non-biodegradable!
> Implement a "No thanks to plastic, it should only be done to your face"-Day.

Buckle up at the rear
Yesterday I attended my JC classmate Janir's wedding reception, together with some of our CG mates. Was good to meet up with some old friends and find out how they're doing. Ah, all of us are now at this age and life chapter where the common topic is inevitably, about work.
I fetched Smelly Shingkit and Yenghoe home.
Smelly Shingkit sat in front while Yenghoe, at the back.
The very hilarious scene was when I turned around to see how he was doing, Yenghoe was seated quietly in one corner, very obediently strapped up, feet together, hands on lap.
HAHAHHAHAHA!!! He looked like a damn cute kiddo.

Emotions of TMSCO
21 April 2009.
SYF Central Judging.
Temasek Secondary School -
GOLD WITH HONOURS!!!
The whole hall erupted with high decibel screams of surprise, shock, overwhelming ecstasy and jubilance.
As much as it was unexpected for them, they had put in hell lots of efforts into preparation. Hours and hours of practice, a number of exchanges with other schools' CO, memorising the scores till they can play on reflex, mastering the dynamics and fluency and body movement... culminated in the actual performance, a brilliant one which moved me. Behind every little children's playfulness and seemingly immaturity, bravely stood a very determined and confident performer who shone and played like members of a tightly-knitted team, their final display was overflowing with emotions, efforts achieved only through passion and hard work.
Am very proud for them.
As all left the hall, the juniors were letting their emotions flow, well aware that, their efforts have paid off well. Very well.
Today's achievement marks a major peak in the long journey of the history of TMSCO. I have doubted it, many years ago, when it gave hints of falling apart with diminishing strength, unsupportive and impassionate members. But fortunately, with new seedlings and a new environment incorporated, I witnessed TMSCO grow from strength to strength, finally achieveing what it has today. However, IT DOES NOT END HERE. It will continue to achieve greater heights, and continue to make big steps in TMSCO's historical journey. It will materialise, but not dependent on alumni, not on luck, not by chance. The future is in the hands of the current students, instructors and teachers-in-charge.
It will be TMSCO Family, am proud to be part of this one big family. =)

Departure memories to take
How can we possibly end our final days in NUS, without taking away some memories with us?
(feel free to click to open big big)
I personally like the photos very much! Pity that Toot-toot de Titus (reason: heavy colour light friend) and Tata (excuse: allergic to rain) couldn't join us. If they had, it would have been most wonderful, our closely-bonded ME clique.
Thanks Irritating Ivan for the patient setting of camera and tripod! The tripod was the 2nd best invention (after the digital camera) for today, without which we couldn't have taken such beautiful memories.
And what was even better, the weather was excellent! The sunshine had just appeared after a heavy rain and the rays were shining in our direction, warmly illuminating the whole picture!
Well. No more school this week already.

Now for the answer to the following picture:
Q: What gadget do you think this is?
A: Washing machine!!!!

The last, and first LT experiences...
Below, my FINAL lecture of my student career. It was LT25.
1 and a half hours passed like nothing at all. I felt sad for the remaining day.
___________________________________________________
And the other day while waiting for Irritating Ivan, I happily, joyfully, gracefully sneaked into LT7a.
AH HAH!!!
EG1*0*!!! (cannot remember module code)
My 1st year module... all Engineering freshies attended their Engineering modules mostly in LT7a btw.
The female lecturer was talking to herself about the DC motor, left hand rule...
Slouched in the chair at the back of the LT, dazing at the screen but mind's wandering elsewhere, the LT7a environment (not forgetting the distinctive stale smell, don't believe, just ask any Engin student), the lecturer muttering to herself, the boring slides and content, the overwhelming sleepy feel... all swarmed back to me like it was only yesterday that I dozed off again in LT7a.
Definitely brought back fond memories of those good old days. (correction, yr1 was quite bad) I think I might just pop into LT7a again some day next week. =)

Regarding my post on my virgin steps into Tampines1...
JoyciE and Yuenz claim my assumption not valid! I wasn't the first 500 to step into Tampines1!!! Cos newspaper said got ppl were already queueing up at 9!?!
/me hmpfs!
So just for the record:
First 100 to wear out a locally-purchased Uniqlo shirt!
/me smirks smirks.

Tampines ONEEEEEEEEEEEEE 111111111111
(This post is also meant for Busy Roys, who would most definitely appreciate some updates on his friendly neighbourhood!)
(Ok fine, what is tampines1 as compared to staying in an igloo, riding on a dog sled and witnessing the rare northern lights??!?!? FINE!!!! I hate u, Busy Roys)
I woke up excitedly because it is the opening day of the much awaited TAMPINES 1 !!!
Grand.
My virgin steps into Tampines 1 !!! I am the first 500 to step into it!!! (safe assumption)
6 exciting storeys to explore!!! 2 wings!!!
Rooftop open space! Wonder what's its supposed to do. For smokers I guess. Could be used to hold future exhibitions? tentage? pasar malam? But it's damn hot up here, all the trapped heat! I thought Tampines1 would have a rooftop garden or similar, with the recent global focus on environmental responsibility and green buildings, but nah.
Manpuku - Japanese Gourmet Town. Huge crowd checking it out, apparently they are giving away 50% discount vouchers! They have a huge full height display of mock food - which looks really realistic and appetizing already.
Auntie Anne's! Blur bee's favourite pretzels. I love their cinnamon sugar. It's good that they finally decided to open one at Tampines!
And Carl's Jr as well!! Finally an outlet at Tampines! It settled my lunch. =D
My new love - Chilli Cheeseburger. And I tried their jalepenos hot pepper at the snacks corner - DAMN HOT!!!!! It's BURNING HOT one!!!!! But damn SHIOK!!!!!
=D
Well, inside Tampines 1, I observed that the shops at level 4 mostly sell electronics stuffs, level 5 was occupied by foot massage parlours, spas, manicure shops etc, basement was FOOOOD...
But the highlight of Tampines 1 had to be...
None other than!
UNIQLO!!!!!
The no.1 casual wear brand in Japan, whose owner is the wealthiest man in Japan.
Their products are of "better quality at Giordano prices", and their line of designs of UT (Uniqlo-Tee) run for only a limited time and do not repeat.
JUST CHECK OUT THE CROWD!!! NEED TO QUEUE TO GET IN!!! THE QUEUE STRETCHED ALL THE WAY FROM OUTSIDE THE SHOP TO THE CORRIDOR LEADING TO THE TOILET, AND U-TURNING BACK!!! TOTALLY CRAZY!!!
AND IT'S ONLY THURSDAY AFTERNOON?!??!
Being one who had desired to own one UT for himself, I joined the queue and surprisingly it moved fast and I got in within 15 mins? Some of the Uniqlo employees are authentic Japanese who bowed to greet!
Ahhhhh. Huge variety and brilliant colours and trendy designs to match everyone's fashion taste.
Uniqlo opening promotion: 9 Apr - 19 Apr. UT going for $19.90 (instead of $24.90) and Denim $49.90.
There are soooooooo many designs and colours to be fascinated at, and I seriously thought they were very affordable. Their polo shirts are only $29.90! They also have a LARGE variety of boxer shorts to choose from, 2 for only $9.90!!! And the ladies section filled more than half the shop space, I estimated.
(visited Springfield and Topman later, and the price difference was shockingly %!#!@%)
(why would anyone, in the right sense of mind, throw $49.90 for a not very impressive looking Springfield T-shirt?! you so rich, gimme some money to buy chicken wings la. DOTZ!)
After spending like 1 hour inside Uniqlo, this was my purchase!
Only 2 (L) sizes remaining!
Tokion is a fashion magazine based in New York. Okay la, I agree it's not VERY MUST-BUY kind of nice, but I think the quality is worth the price. =D

After a day of exploring the newly opened shopping mall, Tampines 1, I should say I felt some sort of disappointed! There aren't as many shops as I would have expected of it, although there is a very big variety of food outlets to choose from, from food court to Chinese restaurant to Carls Jr, Auntie Anne's, to Mr Bean and Taiwanese snacks. The good thing is there are a number of specialty shops such as selling cutie stuffs, action city, japanese food products. But I think the arcade was pathetically small -_-.
Moreover, I felt Tampines 1 failed to include entertainment facilities which would most, most, most definitely have attracted HUMONGOUS CROWDS:
K-box and bowling lah! The nearest k-outlet is at Pasir Ris, bowling at Safra! The Tampines youngsters are CRAVVVVVVVVVING for them! They need them to be at Tampines!!!
/me feels disappointed.

ice blended choc cycling
One of the best feelings in the world...
Cycling leisurely at night, enjoying the breeze, one freezing ice blended chocolate (extra thick) in hand, no homework or tutorial to worry about, your best buddy cycling beside. =)

Family trip to Kukup
My mom slapped my feet this morning, waking me up to accompany them to Malaysia. %#!@$#!
Our destination - Kukup!
A laid-back fishing village, or so my parents described it to me. They claimed to have travelled there 25 years ago! o_O
The drive there was a relaxed and slow one, my parents appreciating the rows of pineapple/sugar cane plantations, the many road-side stalls selling fruits and ice chendol, think it brought them many beautiful childhood memories.
Finally we reached Kukup! As soon as we opened the doors, we could smell a strong whiff of the stale sea. We settled for a seafood lunch. The restaurant was built on concrete stilts... their toilets were reminscient of my kelong trip - back to nature! HAHAHA! (i.e. u return ur input back into the sea!)
After that, we took a short walk among their houses... built on stilts! It was low-tide now.
I couldn't imagine how their toilets were designed... I shudder to picture the scene of the toilets in Slumdog Millionaire. Eeeew. I also noticed they hang their clothes to dry just above the stale swampy areas...
This trip made me realise how advanced and clean Singapore is, we shouldn't take them for granted- the efficient services, unlimited broadband access, road sweepers and workers who clear our rubbish for us out of our sights... even though Singapore is infamous for the intense competitiveness and high-paced lifestyle, it does provide a very fantastic living environment for its residents. We shld be lucky we set deep our roots here.
On another hand, I also noticed many foreigners workers in Malaysia as well. Haha. But they seem to cope better cos those I came across were proficient in Malay, probably were from Indonesia. Definitely helps if foreign workers know how to speak the main language of the country they're working in.
Also felt a tinge of sadness at many vacant shops in a shopping centre at JB... how cruel this current economic crisis is to many honest people, old but experienced workers, and also to us soon-to-be fresh graduates...
I shall end off this post on a happy note. After topping up petrol at JB, we encountered 2 very good samaritians who honked at us to signal and notify us that our petrol cap had been left open. It was very very nice and heart warming to know that there are many good, kind hearted souls out there in this self-centred, highly competitive world. =)
