American's got talent!

Have always been interested in this show.

So I went to youtube for the clips and MAN! Was I so impressed with these!!!! Watch them to relax! =)

Somebody PLEASE PLEASE, tell me how they change clothes so fast. I wish I could do this during my army days.

Deal my head

I wasted one hour of the night witnessing joy, happiness, sorrow and disappointment.

I watched one woman go home with only $10.

ON THIS GAME SHOW!!!

It was my first time watching it. Quite an interesting game I thought, playing with a person's luck, chance, opportunism and greed. haha.

But one thing I wanna express my opinions on... What are the purposes of having the pretty ladies stand there for an hour? And have to maintain that posture, must maintain smile, cannot scratch head, cannot dig nose, cannot AH-CHOO!, cannot this cannot that, I wonder how much they're paid for just opening the suitcases... Anyways, are they there to attract more (male) viewership? If yes, it'd be a failed plan cos the cameras only focus on the girls for like 5 secs leh. -_-

Now I know why Singapore's current employment rate is at its lowest! HAHA!

Trip to Chinatown!!!

TIP: This post will go very well with the background music I put on my blog! Switch on your speakers!!!!!!!! WAKAKAKA!!!

_________________________________________________

On Saturday, I succeeded in jio-ing my whole family to go Chinatown walk walk, so that to get into the festive mood! ^_^

The streets of Chinatown bustling with people! Business is so competitive that some stalls resort to having their promoters shout "Free food, free food! Eat all you want! Best is if you eat till we do not have enough to sell!" And there really are many people crowding around the stalls sampling the nuts and snacks.

There were a number of shops like the above which were decorated very beautifully with chinese new year stuffs, makes me wanna go in and buy things!

I bought a small piggy bank. But it's not a pig, it's a cute mousey. HAHA. I forgot to take a pic of it. Since it's gonna be my year this coming year (means I'm 12x2=24 yrs old T_T), I hope it'd bring me good luck and good fortune! ^_^

We had dessert at the very famous dessert shop, I forgot the name of the shop. We asked for the following:

Almond+sesame = very nice!

Peanut+sesame = so-so, cos I'm not into peanuts...

Mango whatever. Not bad for a refreshing dish, but doesn't taste extraordinary.

And showing you guys a couple of interesting things I saw in Chinatown.

A mahjong tile of the CHICKEN!!! SO FUNNY!!!!!!! HAHAHAHA!!!!!! I knew mahjong kakis like Irritating Ivan and Jammed Joycie will understand why. HAHAHA!

That about sums up my interesting family outing at Chinatown. YAY YAY!!! Chinese New Year is coming!!!!! ^_________^

My childhood tv!

Kudos to Irritating Ivan for this video which dug out my childhood memories! I know many of you loved this show. =)

I remember very clearly, my siblings and I were not allowed to watch the 9pm SBC drama serials. Only the 7pm ones, then have to go study liao. -_- What a sad childhood.

New Fashionable Bag

Attended a lecture of module EG2401 - Engineering Professionlism.

By the way, Ms Singapore Universe 2004 is in the same lecture theatre as us! Click here and here to find out who she is. I'm rather surprised at how she different she looks like in person than in the pictures. She looks way better in person, seriously. I've heard stories that she is a Mum already??? o_O Maybe that explains why she wasn't in lecture today... claiming maternity leave? Joking.

And I saw this fellow lecture mate who brought a school bag with the biggest storage space, ever. Second only to Samsonite.

Repetition

"As far as the equation is concerned..."

"... it's nothing more than..."

Yes, I have Mr Template as my lecturer this semester.

4 hours a week!

That's like a thousand million times I'd be hearing the above words every week.

It just goes to show one thing -Mr Template doesn't read his students' comments in the teachers' survey!

frogs in usa

School has started, and I'm still enjoying everyday cos there's still no work to be done! (YET)

Anyway, show you guys where I worked in Kings Dominion as a lifeguard. When I look at these pics, I can still imagine myself standing there, in that familiar white shirt and red shorts, donning a red stylo lifeguard cap and a whistle round my neck...all those wonderful memories!

Kings Dominion! We worked at the water park, called Water Works.

Introducing my team members, the SHARKS!!!!

They're all very nice people to work with!!!

1) Pipeline Peak.

Comprising of 2 pipes of mild intensity at 47feet, and 2 intense ones at 77feet! All are pitch dark inside. You ride the 47feet pipes seated in tubes. Wonder how high 77feet is? Just look at how small the people look at the top! When you ride the purple pipe, basically you go down so fast round the bends, I swear you can experience all the G-forces and centripetal acceleration, sometimes you even have ear blocks hahaha. Finally when you reach the bottom, your world is still spinning while the lifeguard at the bottom looks blankly at your dazed expression. HAHAHA.

As for the black pipe, I didn't dare to do it. -_- What happens is that you get in, and you'll reach the bottom in 2 seconds!! No kidding! And you'll be skidding like 50m in the pipe before you reach a complete stop. Totally intense!!!!! Most guests step out of the ride screaming, "That is so cool!!!!" Haha. See a guest in action down the black slide??

Oh ya, we get to pick up lots of coins at the bottom. HAHAHAHA.

2) Tidal Wave Bay.

As the name suggests, man made waves are generated. The deepest end is about 6 feet, but when the waves come, it goes to about 6.5 feet.

Close up shot of 2 lifeguards doing their job! Yeah, I spent alot of time at those positions watching the waters. It wasn't boring at all because you see alot of things happening in the waters. (I once found a USD10 note from the waters!)

Dead frogs. Small ones, not those you see when you order frog porridge haha.

When it gets rainy, alot of frogs come out from the outside of the park and unknowingly hop into the tidal wave pool. And sometimes, we're tasked to go into the water and scoop them up. HAHA! It's fun! You get to enjoy the waves while you see the guests siam-ing the frogs. LOL.

I love Kings Dominion!

Oily dream

Fact: Malaysia is now rationing its sales of food oil because of high demands.

Dream: I dreamt that it affected Singapore too! And we ran out of food oil. When I popped by Macdonalds, their fries which came along with the extra value meals, they no longer have them! Because no oil to fry fries!

And in my dream, they changed the fries to Popcorn!!!!

HAHAHA!

But don't worry folks, my dreams don't come true. Hahaha!

One more month...

Boy, am I glad Chinese New Year's round the corner.

Faces of SHEER JOY, captured on camera. :)

Darn, he found me.

After hearing many stories of the unexpected haunting down the unfortunate... and how the unfortunate found means to ignore them...

I thot I have been very lucky all along!

But no, I spoke too soon.

(qbwdt = 欠扁问答题.)

Now, SCREEEEEEEAM!!!!!!!

It's the time of the year again..... to BID!

It's bidding period again!

This's the first time ever in my NUS life, that I have to sit down and plan my timetable, what modules to take, which time slots to take up etc. I'm not kidding! Cos previously, all I ever took were core modules, and they were all ALLOCATED. HAHA.

Anyways, I was given a shock when I checked my CORS points.

Happy New Year 2008!!!!

Here's wishing everyone a very fruitful and happy 2008! =) May happier days lie ahead!

On 31st Dec, courtesy of Frankenstein Fab, Jx and I were honoured guests for the tv filming of a new food show!

No idea what the tv show is about yet. But all we know is that we, together with 28 other guests, are the jury for the dishes from a hawker stall at Golden Mile Food Centre.

Here's the stall at B1-50. The chef will cook up bbq pork ribs and seafood pasta for everyone to sample, and later vote.

The poster for the jury panel!

The hosts Kym Ng and Quan Yifeng interviewing the chef. I must say it's my first time up close and personal with both artistes, and the latter didn't really impress me with her "Oh, you're only nobody, quit looking at me" airrrrrr. Anyways, not that I was going ooh ga ga over them!

After the first dish of pork ribs, here were my comments for the dish! Decorated with the bones and bbq sauce. The hosts were amused by it and interviewed me! LOL! I wasn't nervous or excited, I just hope I'll look natural. :S

And I took a photo with both pretty ladies.

The whole filming took about 3 hours. They would be filming another 2 vendors at Haig Road and Geylang next week. Anyone interested? =)

Later that night, Jx and me cycled to Downtown East for COUNTDOWN PARTY!!!!! Sorry to digress, but it was really super nice to cycle in the cool breeze at night! Anyways, pity we reached abit too late, there was only half an hour left before midnight. The place was super crowded with people!

When we entered the GIGANTIC tent where the party was held, Miss Beautiful Wok aka Jocie Guo Mei Mei was performing!

HAHAHHAA. She sang a couple of songs and interacted with the audience quite well.

Pretty soon it was 25 secs till midnight and everyone was so hyped up.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!

Similar to last year, hundreds of balloons came flying down from the roof of the tent and they played "Auld Lang Syne" and all danced and sang along to it. LALALALA!!!

Once again, Happy New Year to all peeps! =)

Random notes from Ye

On 2 separate occasions, I was working at my home desk when Ye sat beside, doodled on a post-it and passed it to me:
